Quaerentes in Extremis
Annie of Wigtown
This small maid is deeply curious about books and her low status belies her sharp intellegence.
Annie grew up the daughter of a one of the Deacons for the Bishop of Whithorn. Her birth was not secret, but she learned to be cautious and sneaky in order to avoid shaming her father, who she loved dearly. Although born illigtimate, her father inssted that she learn to read and shared many books and papers that he had access to from the Cathedral Priory. This exposure sparked an obsession in reading and finding books.
When she learned that a group of “scholars” lived in the Galloway Hills, she set out to find them (and their books) and offered her services to the Covanant.
